1. Annie had a motto, an Indian name given to her by Sitting Bull, a stage name, and a logo (a heart with a bullet hole through it). If you could choose any of these for yourself, which one would you choose and what would it be?

2. There are lots of stories about Annie Oakley. Research Annie’s life and try to determine which events in her life are factual and which stories are legends.

3. List some of the places that Annie Oakley traveled.

4. Annie met lots of famous people. Which famous person would you like to meet and why would you like to meet that person?

5. Why do you think Annie used her earnings to help children?

6. Pretend you are Annie and write a letter to you about working hard in school.

7. Do you think Annie would have been able to make a living today being a markswoman? Have social attitudes changed in regards to guns?

8. Take a blank sheet of paper and draw a line down the center. On one side, write down how things are different today than they were in Annie Oakley’s day. On the other side, write down how things are similar.

9. Make a time line of Annie Oakley’s life. Write down the important events in her life and also the important historical events which took place during her life time.

10. Annie designed her own clothes. Draw a set of clothes that you’d like to wear.
